Tacoma Washington being sold through the Multihull Co. contact Matthew Dunning   206-297-1151   Asking $72,000

Wharram Oro - “Wharram Oro ”

Some projects take time. Years can elapse between the selection of a design and the wetting of hulls. Sometimes decades. This is a Custom Oro 46'. One of the oldest of Wharram's designs yet it was launched in 2011. She was many years in the making and went through a succession of builders' interpretations. Her rig is eclectic - almost Steampunk. Her tramps are only for daysailing. She wants a proper steering system. She will (always) need some refinishing. She is fairly bare bones but a classic. Further interpretation and effort are required before she lives up to her bluewater heritage. But the gruelling work is done. Years of effort have been expended. Refitting is months not years. 800 square feet, 3 cabins, a galley, head, flexi-space, a pilothouse, and a manageable ketch rig invite your finishing touches.

Matthew knows these boats well, this might be an opportunity for someone.

Mahiya, A VERY NICE Tiki 30 in Southeast Florida

This boat was offered for sale a couple of years ago and Ray decided not to sell. Now she is offered up again. This boat is the second nicest Tiki 30 I have seen. It is almost as nice as Abaco. Really as nice,  only  a slightly different flavor. I picked up lots of nice details from this boat.

Mahiya is exceptional, with lots of attention to detail and many unique ideas and features. She is a custom, professionally built boat (at a licensed yard in the Philippines). I personally supervised and took part in the build. For 2 years, 6 days each week I and a well-trained, highly skilled crew worked meticulously and methodically. Construction started in January 2007. She was completed and launched December 2008, 23 months later. Outfitting continued for several years. After sailing in the Philippines for a year she was shipped to Florida. She is USCG Documented, and has a Jones Act waiver which allows her to be used for charter work (she has a Coastwise Endorsement).

She is unique in many ways. No costs were spared on building her. She was the first Tiki 30 ever strip planked. The hulls are beautiful. We used strips of lauan (a Philippine hard wood) milled on site and perfectly molded to create nice lines and eliminate the “step” at the water line. The hulls were then glassed inside and out using West System Epoxy and cloth. There is a 316 stainless strip run down the entire length of the keel for protection while beaching her.

She is powered by a Yamaha 9.9

The mast is carbon fiber, as is the aft net tube and the bimini frame, all custom built for me in New Zealand.

All 6 nets were custom build in Saint Petersburg, FL.

The working sails were made by Hyde Sails. The jib is on a Pro Furl (roller furling system) and has a foam luff added for better shape while furled.

The main sail has three reef points.

There is also a screecher sail on a continuous loop furler. All sails are on 2:1 purchases for ease of raising and she is set up for single handed sailing with all lines led back to cockpit.

All cockpit cushions are cut from marine closed cell floatation boat foam. All material is Sunbrella (cushions, bimini, sail covers, hatch covers, etc). And the thread used was also sunbrella.

She is completely outfitted:

  • Auto helm 2000 with Remote Control
  • VHF, SSB, HAM
  • SPOT Satellite transmitter
  • GPS
  • Barometer
  • Wireless Instruments (Tack Tick)
  • EPIRB
  • Sea Anchor with dedicated harness and lines
  • 3 Sets of Ground Tackle
  • 6 Solar Panels
  • Dorade Vents on main cabins
  • 2 Solar vents on every cabin (intake and exhaust)
  • Lightning system
  • Surge protection
  • Lewmar Atlantic Series Hatches and lights
  • LED lighting through out
  • Sony Marine sound system (speakers inside and out)
  • Pressure shower on aft net
  • 2 heads
  • Deck tent
  • Mosquito nets
  • Lots of extra line (dock lines, sheets, etc.)
  • Dock box
  • Dock whips
  • Fenders (including 2 large inflatables)
  • 10 ft folding skiff with Yamaha 2 hp
  • And much, much more!

She cost me roughly $150,000 to build and outfit.

Will sell for $85,000.

Very Nice Tiki 46 in the Caribbean

Hi everyone,

Our tiki 46 "Spiral Tribe" is for sale.
She is in nearly new condition after a 3 year renovation and is a fantastic boat.
We sailed from South Africa to brazil in 22 days and are now cruising the windward islands in the caribbean.

We are selling as my partner is pregnant and I have been offered a long term work contract back in Asia and we don't want to put her on the hard for a few years as realistically we aren't going to be able to use her properly for the foreseeable future.

It will be a very sad day when she is sold as I poured my love sweat and tears into her over the last 4 years.

If anyone is interested then please mail me on marty.c.peters at gmail.com or send me or message on this forum.

There are photos of this boat on Wharram Builders and Friends. It is a very nice example of a Tiki46
