  • I had intended to charter her out but all my partnerships fell through. I will consider owner-financing the vessel and would also consider a business partnership (charter).
  • She was built by Navy Captain Rbert Phillips who sailed her from Texas to Panama and back.
  • Since I have owned the vessel she has made the folowing journeys without incident:
  • Panama City Beach, FL to Riviera Beach FL
  • Riviera Beach,FL to Key West, FL
  • Key West to Clearwater, FL (January 2012)
  • Vermillion Bay to Galveston Bay, TX.
  • To Panama and beyond and also all the way up the east coast and back several times.
  • You might say she has circumnavigated the state of Florida.
  • She was sailed single-handed from Clearwater, FL to Vermillion Bay by a 70 year old captain.I have upgraded and/or replaced just about everything on the boat. Much of the work was done by Wharram expert Boatsmith in FLorida. Boat was pulled out of the water, pulled apart and every structural issue that could be found was repaired.

  • Tiki 21 in New Jersey

This is posted on Sailing Texas  http://sailingtexas.com/201301/swharramtiki21101.html
Wharram Tiki 21 Coastal Trek Catamaran, Rahway, New Jersey
  • w/ ready-to-go Galv. Trailer, $4,000
  • LOA: 21'
  • Beam 12'
  • Draft 1'- 2"
  • Weight: 600 lbs (according to specs)
  • Carrying Capacity: 800-1,000 lbs
  • Main: 130 sq. ft.
  • Jib: 78 sq. ft.Hull #397, completed in 1989 was sailed throughout the Martha's Vineyard/Block Island area for 23 years by previous owner.
  • I purchased the boat last year and got 90% of the restoration work done before Sandy struck.
  • Because I am now involved in Long Term Recovery work it looks as if it will be a few years before I can get back to the boat. There are a few minor things to still be done before the boat is painted - mostly fairing. A great advantage to the boat not being painted is that you can see the quality of the construction and repairs plainly. The hardest thing will probably be choosing your colors!
Here is your chance to own a Wharram cat for less than the plans and materials would cost you!
The boat is titled and registered in New Jersey and includes everything except an engine: full set of construction plans, heavy-duty, stainless steel mast mount, aluminum mast, main and jib by Jeckells Sailmakers in the UK (original maker of the sails). The sails alone would cost $1800 + shipping.
More pictures available. No such thing as a stupid question...except an unasked one.
